San Antonio Mayor Says Education Is Key For Latinos
While Latinos have become the largest ethnic minority in the United States, they continue to be underrepresented in places of higher education.
Julian Castro, a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School, currently serves as the mayor to San Antonio. He recently gave the keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention last month, becoming the first Hispanic ever to do so.
Castro strongly believes exposing more people to better education is the solution to many of the current social/economic crises. Castro describes “Brain power is the new currency of success in the 21st century global economy.”
