Obama honors iconic Latino activist Cesar Chavez

 

President Barack Obama recently announced the creation of a monument to honor the late labor and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez.

The Cesar E. Chavez National Monument, a 3-acre parcel of land at Nuestra Senora Reina de la Paz in California, will become the 398th park in the National Park Service system, and the first since the 1700s to honor a Latino.
